Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? MIssing emails

I have suddenly lost emails from 1 December to 12 February and many of my folders are now empty. I backup my computer nightly so I am able to go back up to six months ago. I have tried exchanging the profile folder in Appddata > Roaming and Local but when I start Thunderbird it looks like a clean install with nothing.

Is there anything else I need to bring back from my backups other than the profiles folder?

I fail to see any errors in here.

I even tried with the reference configuration from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Autoconfiguration:ConfigFileFormat but it failed as well. (I just found that the <serverURL> tag is not properly closed but that was easy to fix.)

Has anyone here seen that effect as well? Should I file a bug?

My email which functions under Mozilla Thunderbird (which was created Jan 28, 2018 - yes that is 2018) has begun to "freeze". I cannot do simple filing of messages or delete batches of emails.

I went to HostCentric and cleared out the webmail version of all of my emails, hoping that this would "fix" my problem. It did not.

I do not know if my version Thunderbird should have been updated in the past or not. If I were to update my version of Thunderbird, would my existing email address remain in tact? Or do I have to back everything up in order to preserve my email "world"? I do NOT want to lose my email address and all of the inbox contents or sub-folder files.

My email is how I manage and communicate with my lawyer, accountant, summer rental property etc.

Quick Filter button indicator not working properly

I’ve got a minor but annoying Quick Filter button issue which just cropped up today out of nowhere, and haven’t been able to find an exact match for all these symptoms in any other problem reports.

Toggling my Quick Filter button works as expected, picking up the individual active filter buttons. However, in some instances of launching TB its on/off status indicator always displays as active regardless of individual filter button status. Weirder still, in other cases it always displays as inactive. It’s an intermittent problem, which always persists in one way or the other.

Further details:

- Problem is also present in safe mode, with the single plugin I use (CardBook) disabled.

- General display settings are “Theme Simple” and “Variant Normal” (not “Dark”).

- There are no automatic filters configured in “Tools > Message Filters”.

- Individual filter buttons are all working properly, including correct status indicators.

- Running current TB version (128.7.0esr 64-bit) on Windows 10 with all OS patches up to date.

An example:

Image 1: “Show only unread messages” button is active, and the Quick Filter button also displays as such (both indicators are correct).

Image 2: All individual filter buttons are inactive, yet the Quick Filter button still indicates a filter is active.

I’m stumped, thanks in advance for any help!

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit) on Fedora 41 Linux...

I'm trying to export all messages in a mailbox on an old Yahoo mail account and then import all those messages into another email account. I access both accounts from Thunderbird. I'm using IMAP protocol, and all email accounts keep the messages on the server.

I've exported the mailbox to a folder on my computer; now all the email messages exist as separate .eml files in that folder. But I can't see how to import them into the second email account.

It seems that exporting my entire profile won't help as I'm not moving everything to a second computer. But I cannot see any way to select just the one mailbox from the one 'source' email account that I want to import into the 'destination' email account.

Cannot remove labels from messages

I have 4 messages in my inbox (IMAP not Gmail). They are all labelled "Later" and one of them has a second tag "Important". These labels just appeared after I started using Thunderbird as from last month (2025-01-01). I found out how they should be removed: "More"-"Labels"-"0 - Remove all labels" or just click to toggle.

Expected behavour: Click to toggle off, stay off. Choose "0 - Remove all labels", stay removed

Actual behavour: With the pop up window open the label is gone, but when it's closed or another message selected, the label is back again.

Please help

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I've been archiving my e-mail on my Synology NAS for a number of years now. However, my W10 desktop computer died last year and I've had to reinstall Thunderbird on a new W11 PC. I want to get access to all the archived e-mails on my NAS, that is, as they used to appear in Thunderbird under local folders year-by-year. I also want to be able to archive more recent e-mails to the same location. That is, I want to re-establish the same archiving process I had previously, complete with access to the old archives. I've tried to set up the same file path to the NAS under Local Folders in Thunderbird (as far as I can remember - I might not have it correct) but the old archives don't appear. in an attempt to identify the correct file path on the NAS, I've tried to archive a recent message as a test so I can see where it is stored - in Thunderbird the year folder appears under the NAS location under local folders as expected and I can see the message in the message window so it seems to be working but I can't see any new folders or files on the NAS - nothing modified or created with today's date. This morning, none of our Thunderbird desktop email is working. We can't send or receive email at all. Our webmail works but we don't want to use that. I just upgraded to 128.7.1esr hoping that would fix the problem. It hasn't. Attached is an error message I get when trying to send an email. I have checked and all the settings are correct.

I am not a developer so if you have any suggestions, please keep it simple. Thank you!

1) The plugin lets you make filters for all mailboxes and folders, or for any selection of them, rather than for just a single folder/mailbox. Some things I filter for may arrive in any of several mailboxes, depending on the address I used, and it's a drag to create the same filter for each of them.

2) The plugin lets you search in specific mailboxes or folders, or for any selection of them, without having to wade through masses of irrelevant results from other folders.

3) The plugin shows you, in search results, what folder each email is in. Currently, when I do a search, each folder containing any results is on the list showing how many results it contains, and if I click on it I can see those results, but that's not the same - and it goes away when the results are shown as a list.

We followed the instructions Encrypt emails with Thunderbird and GPG | Bacardi55's Web Cave and GPG Keys Management :: Fedora Docs which as I said results in my other system working as intended.

Could the non-working system be missing a package or a pointer set incorrectly? GPG and GPGME are installed. Keys are configured.

Am now setting up events in the calendar. I can see how to tag events for a wide range of categories (too many perhaps), but is it possible to highlight events in different colours, please?

Outlook doesn't let you do this, but the Google calendar lets you mark them up in different block colours - v useful for showing at a glance which family members are involved in which events - a bit like the old-style office wall planners.

Sometimes, when I delete one email from the inbox, the inbox shows "no message found", even though there are still other emails in the inbox. The remaining emails are still in the inbox, they just don't show. If I right click on inbox in the left panel, and select "open in new tab", the remaining emails show in the new tab, just not in the main inbox. If I close out thunderbird and start it again, the emails show in the main inbox. The problem occurs occasionally, whether I select delete from the menu bar, hit the delete key, or right click on the entry and select the trash can icon.

This problem started maybe 10 or more updates ago. For each new update I think "surely it will be fixed this time".

I have included a partial screenshot of what it looks like after the problem occurs.

This problem is different than any other questions I have found in the search. It purely a visual presentation error, not disastrous, just highly annoying. Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.
